Who We Are

At Broadsheet Coffee Roasters we believe that a good cup of coffee, like good news, is wonderful savored alone– but even better shared. We’re located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where the first broadsheet newspapers were printed in the US for wide distribution. And that’s inspired us to become a place where all are welcome, connections can be made, and ideas shared.

We take great care and pride in selecting exceptional coffees. We meticulously roast them in truly small batches in the cafe on a precise, quiet and environmentally friendly Loring coffee roaster. All of our food is prepared from scratch and in-house using the finest ingredients available.

We’re proud to be part of this community– please join us!

Owner & Roaster

Aaron MacDougall

Aaron, a Boston native and Harvard College alum, spent years in Asia as an investment banker – but always hoped to return to his hometown.  His path back took him through Hawaii, where he lived for a couple of great years and which allowed him to explore his interest in coffee and roasting in the US’s only major coffee growing region.  After moving back to the Boston area, Aaron pursued every learning opportunity he could find in coffee, studying with some of the US’s top roastmasters and certifying as an Arabica Coffee Q-Grader.  After realizing that he couldn’t imagine not doing coffee professionally, Aaron committed to opening Broadsheet Coffee Roasters and sharing his coffee with the Camberville community.

In his ‘free time’, Aaron continues to learn all he can about coffee and food, pushes himself to progress in roasting and cupping, and loves building with legos, mending action figures, and joking around with his family.

Food Director & Pastry Chef

Darine Hazboun

Darine, a third generation baker, spent ten years as an interior designer before reverting back to her original passion, baking. Taking advantage of Cambridge’s educational opportunities, she earned her Professional Pastry degree at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts with honors and a LeNôtre award. After graduation, she developed a great reputation and strong customer following as the head of the pastry department at the Loading Dock in Belmont. Darine’s food inspirations are the flavors of the Mediterranean and South American fusions.

In her free time, Darine enjoys reading a cookbook, baking a batch of recipes she’s never done before and gathering with friends and family to enjoy them.

Retail Manager and Beverage Director

Wolf Barn Marnell

Wolf is a long-time Camberville resident who developed his chops in coffee, training, and management as Director of Coffee for Pavement Coffeehouse in Boston. He has long been involved in the United States Barista Competition as a judge, coach and competitor, and is a certified instructor for the Barista Guild of America.

Before working in the coffee industry, Wolf dabbled in knitwear design and studied classical languages and literature (primarily ancient Greek) at Dartmouth College. Now when he’s not doing coffee things, Wolf can often be found outdoors taking advantage of New England’s awesome scenery by cycling or rock climbing – or at home with his wife and cat.
